The Association of Philadelphia School Librarians Email: President@apsllive.org
To my APSL constituents,It is my hope and intent as I take on this new role as president that we as an organization rally for our cause. We must continue to develop and promote quality library service for the students in the Philadelphia School System. To do this, we must make a concerted effort to continue to be the very best in our fields. How do we do this? By continuing to grow and learn from each other. We have very knowledgeable people in our organization with great things to share. Let’s make the effort to share this great talent and spread the wealth. But we can’t share unless we connect with each other. We can not just hear from a few. Become involved! Together, we can make a difference! I am hoping that you will help in making the Association of Philadelphia School Librarians an organization that is a strong and vital one. I am counting on all of us to make a difference. We can only do it if you join us. There is strength in numbers. Let’s make APSL as strong as it can be!! As you read this message, think to yourself, I need to use technology to communicate. This is our way of being and staying connected. Libraries are changing and we must change with them. It is vital that we continue to guide and learn from each other. This way we can continue to have librarians and libraries play an important role in the educational success of our students. I refuse to believe that a school without a library and a librarian will be as successful as the school that has both. We must convince those that think otherwise. How do we do this within APSL? By getting connected, staying connected and spreading the word. It is my hope that we will make every effort to help one another. We must continue to let others know the value and importance of libraries and librarians in our schools. We know all children need good libraries and librarians, but we must make sure that others do. Please join me and APSL in promoting this cause. Have a great school year and I look forward to seeing and hearing from each of you. Faithfully yours, |
